Apocryphal image of the brown Secretary above left. As far as I and the denizens of the forums know, Secretaries never came with hands like that! |

Secretary
was the matron of the largest of all
Telechron clans and the alarm version of the Investor.
Cordial (below) was the same clock with luminous numbers.
After the War, both variations were combined in the Telalarm.
This bunch spawned three other, smaller versions of themselves: The
Telebell
,
the Telalarm Jr. and the
ubiquitous,
Little Tel .
Don't look too closely at the ivory Secretary above. It's a pre-War
example but it's in a post-War styrene case. Since I didn't get it
from a Telechron collector, it must have been obtained by the original
owner from Telechron.
"CORDIAL" Model No. 7H91-L
Same design but with luminous numerals and hands Brown case $4.95 Ivory color case $5.50 |
Enough was too much with these inaccurate catalog shots. The B & W shot above was really for the Post-War Telalarm but it's got the radial numerals and the wide hands and says 'Warren Telechron' on the dial and the only difference was it said "TELALARM" instead of 'ALARM'. So I just did what they probably did in 1946 and altered the text a bit. It's a pretty accurate Cordial now. The actual Cordial on the right shows what luminous paint did to the minute but not the hour hand. Neither one nor the dial glows a lick anymore. |
