The blue mirrored acrylic arrived today.  It is a much deeper blue than the original, but it looks better at any rate.  I bought a plastic cutting tool at Lowes yesterday, so as soon as the plastic arrived, I cut it.  I managed to do a halfway decent job without completely destroying the material, and even without cutting myself, so the clock is back together now.  I found that this material is extremely easy to scratch, so the surface doesn't look as clean as I would like.

It looks great. AND if you have extra material, a second attempt to do a scratch free one in your free time is do-able.
Didn't the stuff come with a layer of peel off thin clear cover?
It usually does, and you remove the peel off after you do your cutting and drilling.

The material did come with a protective plastic cover on the front side, but I did the cutting from the mirror side, and the protective cover stayed with the bigger piece.  I should have cut off the dangling cover and kept it on the piece I cut off.  I didn't realize how easily scratchable this material is.  There is still enough material for at least three or four more clock faces.  If any other collectors need some, we can work an arrangement.

The scratches are not so obvious as the mirror face is a distance behind the thick front beveled clear glass (and my eyesight isn't very good).

I really like clocks (and radios and other things) that scream art deco like this model.

That looks great!  The easy scratching is a down side with acrylic.  Other than that, as long as the area where it is used is dust free, it's the best chance one can get at a colored mirror material.
