Which Hammond Model is This?
« on: August 18, 2019, 09:30:08 AM »
I bought this clock this morning at the local flea market for $20 (the seller was asking $45).  It does not appear to have a tag with the model name.  The dial shows "Hammond Clock Co.", so that places it to about 1932 - 1937.  The clock is about 8.5" tall and 7.5" wide.  Can someone here tell me the model name?

Thank You

Larry

I did a quick restoration and reassembled the clock, but I still don't know what the model is.

That is the Winona, Larry, circa 1933.  Full ad scan here:

Thank you very much for the information.  Hammond must not have sold many of these.  I have not been able to find a picture of one of these.  "Winona" is the name of a street in Chicago which is near where the Hammond factory was.

I just noticed that the depiction in the catalog appears to show brass feet on this clock.  My clock has four screw holes on the bottom, so it apparently used to have feet.  I am borrowing the brass feet from a spare Chronmaster case for now.

I had never seen a picture of this model mentioned before, either; I just got lucky searching ads and catalogs after reading your post...

It could be that this model was unpopular and discontinued early into production.  It is tall and thin and quite top-heavy.  It falls over very easily.  I am wondering if a previous owner removed the feet to make it less prone to falling over.
