Aladdin's Lamp Night Light
« on: December 02, 2013, 10:49:11 PM »
I was looking for a night light for my son when I came upon this:

Isn't that cool?   :afro:

It came today.  It's really nice.   I think it's bakelite.  The "sad" part is the quality of this "toy" is better (by far) than any new night light I'm likely to come across.
What this country needs is a good $5 parts clock.

Very nice, two D cells?... don't knock it off the table, that's a heavy sucker when loaded.

(Hmmm... could be modified with a high-power LED...  |-&... just thinking...)

Wow. Still in box.  Three colors originally.  Would you believe I already tried an LED?  Problem is the ones I have are for flashlights and for soldering irons (222 replacements) and they're focused to come out the front.  So they don't give the nice, warm, even light the old bulb gives.  Those are C cells but, yes, still heavy.

Update:  This thing is so nice, I'm having second thoughts about giving it to my five-year old!
