* Crystals 8" and smaller were measured using the sight opening in the bezel.  8" and larger crystals are listed at actual size. They run 1/8" larger than the size indicated.  If you have a choice of 1/16" bigger or smaller, it will probably be the bigger one.  Yes, this means the actual size could be as much as 3/16" BIGGER than the description size.

** GE and Telechron used an identical parts system except GE parts were preceded by an "X".  So GE number XC58X41 and Telechron C58X41 describe the same part.  I don't think the initial "X" or "C" meant anything. The "58" was the parts code for crystals.  The "X" in the middle of the part number is just a delimiter. The numbers at the end are really the only ones that mattered and were assigned in the order the parts were introduced.  So the C58X1 was probably the oldest crystal part appearing on the oldest 3-series models, the 3F51 and 3F52.
